Razzle Cats, headed by skipper John Slotegraaf and the All Dick combination of Allan Geraldene and Richard Peters share ladder leadership after the opening four rounds. Both Razzle Cats and All Dick have won each of their games by the same scoreline – 4-1 – while the only other undefeated pairing is Underdogs which includes father-son duo, Darren and Nick Pink. The new look tournament has attracted 12 teams and a full double length round robin series of roster matches will run through till March 19 before the 2015 finals series begins. An aside of the tournament proper includes a randomly drawn scotch doubles knockout event. The draw was conducted last Thursday night and the opening round games must be completed by February 12. Flanagan’s Guinness Cup A MODEST field of just 12 players fronted for the opening round of the inaugural Flanagan’s Guinness Cup being played over a 10 week period at Mount Gambier’s Flanagan’s Irish Pub. With sponsorship from brewing giant, Lion Nathan, the tournament provides weekly prizemoney and a series of escalating points to all entrants which accumulate towards a grand final playoff on March 18. Entry cost is $10 per player per week and each entrant is offered a free pint of Lion Nathan product upon registration. To qualify for the grand final, players must finish inside the top 16 points scorers and the eligibility criteria also includes a minimum of four of the nine qualifying rounds. He was a popular member of the pool fraternity and supported a large number of events for many years. Relatives and friends of Mr Pullicino are invited to attend a funeral liturgy at St Augustine’s Catholic Church in Port MacDonnell at 2pm today. Mr Pullicino’s family has asked that in lieu of floral tributes, a donation be made to the Leukaemia Foundation, P.O. Box 9954, Adelaide, 5000.
