With many visitors expected to arrive tomorrow the clubrooms at 15 Shelton Street will be open from 3pm for registrations and free coffee or tea with cake. For those wishing to bring their own tea to eat at the clubrooms, the facility will be available from 6pm and will later feature a quiz with the bar open but no BYO alcohol. Registrations continue from 8am on Saturday prior to runs to Nene Valley and Carpenter Rocks and an afternoon lunch at the Kongorong Football Club before returning to the Shelton Street rooms for a 5pm free “Happy Hour” with drinks and nibbles ahead of a two course evening meal from 6.30pm followed by some interesting guest speakers. Cars will assemble for public viewing from 7.30am at the Lady Nelson Visitor Centre on Sunday followed by a run to Dartmoor and Heywood with a choice of return routes to be at Mount Gambier for a big evening at the West Gambier Football Club where participating cars can be parked on the oval in front of the venue and tea, music, dancing, award presentations and spot prizes will complete the day. In conjunction with Monday’s Australia Day breakfast at the Cave Gardens, tour vehicles will assemble for another public display in Commercial Street East when it is hoped that extra cars from one or two similar clubs will add to the number before the tour comes to an end and all make moves to return home. Easter Cup road races AS mentioned recently, this year’s Easter Cup road race meeting will be the year’s first major local club Mac Park event after the upcoming Hartwell championship round on March 7 and 8. To again incorporate round one of both the Master of McNamara Park titles for 2015, the Easter promotion will also feature the annual appearance of the popular BEARS (British, European and American Racing Series) which will delight the many followers of non-Japanese machines such as Ducati, Triumph and Harley. With Easter early in the month this year, the event dates have been set for Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5, with practice on Friday, April 3. Apart from the main features and the BEARS, there will be a strong support program incorporating 600cc and Over 600 solos, an LC Yamaha special, a 20th century class and more together with sidecars. Further details of this prestigious promotion will be included in coming reports. Coming events Tonight: Borderline Speedway, Kings Sprintcar Challenge, Junior sedans.
