CFS volunteers from around the state have played a pivotal role in saving both life and property in the last month. There are some key facts that need to be presented to communicate the value of CFS in this state. CFS membership stands at around 13,500 volunteers - this is nearly 14 times the size of the Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS). With students across the region preparing to embark on tertiary study for the new year, the spotlight is calling for Mount Gambier’s Grady Lynch after he was accepted into a three-year Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in music theatre at the Victorian College of the Arts. The 19-year-old attended Mount Gambier High School before accepting an arts scholarship at Hamilton and Alexandra College for his senior schooling, being cast in the 2013 Year 12 drama production as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables.
