It will be Perry’s second successive appearance in the three day tournament, which this year will be hosted by the Bordertown Golf Club from March 7-9. Although Victoria holds an 8-3 lead in the Border Challenge, South Australia has won the last three playoffs. STATE CAP: Mount Gambier junior golfer has won selection in the South Australian state team to play Victoria in the 12th annual Border Challenge against Victoria from March 7-9 at the Bordertown Golf Club. The tournament is modelled on the old Dunhill Cup with players competing in 18-hole strokeplay matches against individual opponents in the opening round, foursome matchplay in Round 2 and individual matchplay in Round 3. In 2014 at the Horsham Golf Club the tournament format Look out for Stampede Series ROD MORRIS HALF way through Formula 500’s tough Stampede Series and Mount Gambier’s Stephanie Munn is in a highly credible position. Four rounds have been completed in the series which started back in early November in Hamilton and is scheduled to finish in another Victorian country town, Horsham on May 2. Munn (21) will race at her home track – Borderline Speedway – this Saturday night for Round 5 of the Stampede Series. Her best performance to date was in Round 2 at Swan Hill where she collected 146 points and her current tally of 226 is commendable when stacked up against the leader, Josh Buckingham who is on 391. One of very few girls competing on the Formula 500 circuit in Australia, Munn mixes it with the boys and doesn’t take a backward step. She races at Murray Bridge and Speedway City (Adelaide) recently and in one of her best performances yet, finished fourth in the A-Main after starting at 11th on the grid. Borderline Speedway has attracted 22 nominations for the this weekend’s round of the Stampede Series, including six of the top 10 drivers on the current standings. Pos. Telford will be joined in the travelling party by team managers, Jenny Butcher, Tony Bourne and Barry Green. Perry will take good form to Bordertown, having recently won the Junior Scratch Championship in the Moyneyana Open at Port Fairy where he finished 11 over par for 27-holes.
