Quality golf at the Bay Port MacDonnell Annual Summer Tournament THE Port MacDonnell Golf Club held its Annual Summer Tournament over the weekend with some quality golf played over the three days. The event teed off with a ninehole stroke event on the Friday night, with Xavier Taylor taking the honours for the men with a nett 30. For the women Annette Perryman was best with a nett 29. Saturday saw an 18-hole stableford event with the winner of the perpetual trophy donated by the District Council of Grant for the best score of the day being Lucindale’s Peter Justin with 41 points on a countback from club captain Matthew Fox. A good turnout of golfers competed over the course of the weekend, with many travelling from country Victoria to attend. Apart from club members, other players from Dartmoor, Heywood, Lucindale, Balmoral, Casterton, Blue Lake, Parklands and Mooralla competed. Perryman said the club was pleased with the weekend and thanked the many sponsors that made the annual event possible, including Gabriel Electrical, Periwinkles Cafe, Merretts Tractor Hire, Mother Of Pearl Wines, Noel Barr Toyota, G. and D. Milstead and family, Pittos Electrical, Lois Harvey, D. and C.
