LIMESTONE COASTalive TRIBUTE: The Acca Dacca band featured a line-up matching rock legends AC/DC, with guitarist Jesse Attard convincingly playing the role of a younger Angus Young. Pictures: JASON WALLACE 1 1 Thundering tribute to Aussie rock icons LIVE REVIEW 1 JASON WALLACE J BLUE SHADOWS rocked to the hit songs of AC/DC on Saturday night when tribute act Acca Dacca travelled all the way from Brisbane to perform. Mount Gambier pipers, including Barry Ward, provided a fi tting opening to the night, performing as the band burst onto the stage, adding a level of excitement as local musicians joined the major drawcard, embellishing the show. ASMINE The fi ve-piece Acca Dacca line-up matched the legendary act, pumping out a solid sound of high voltage rock. While there was a reasonable crowd for the performance, it was disappointing more Mount Gambier people did not turn out to support the high-level performers and encourage venues to continue to bring visiting artists to the South East. Young Jesse Attard played a convincing Angus Young, delivering impressive lead breaks and solid riffs while duck walking around the stage and exciting the crowd. He was joined by his father Larry Attard as lead singer, and although he did not match the vocal impact of Brian Johnson or the late and great Bon Scott, the full act delivered a rocking show that had fi sts pumping, voices shouting along and people dancing.
