FOR HOME SPORT www.borderwatch.com.au Top 10 fi nish for Day Holds on to ninth spot in the British Superstock 600 titles IT took up until the 12th and fi nal round of the British Superstock 600 Championship for Mount Gambier’s Levi Day to be faced with a wet track in the feature race, but not even the harsh Kent weather could dampen the 24-year-old’s spirits as he celebrated a top 10 fi nish in his maiden series campaign. Brands Hatch provided the “typical” wet English backdrop for the fi nal round over the weekend with Day powering the Motobreakers #57 to a strong position on the grid, only to slip back through the rankings. Despite the less than ideal fi nish to his fi rst Championship abroad, Day’s accumulated points ensured he held on to ninth overall. “I can’t believe how fast the season has gone and that we were already at Round 12 in the championship,” Day said. “Every round so far this year we have had a dry race, but this weekend was set to be a wet one,” he said. “Practice on Friday was wet and this was one our fi rst time in the season to try and fi nd a wet set up.” HOLDING ON: Levi Day has fi nished ninth in his maiden British Superstock 600 Championship, holding on to a top 10 fi nish despite a tough fi nal round at Brands Hatch.
