The initial closure of Chardonnay Lodge sent shockwaves through the tourism sector about two months ago when owners CL at C Ltd announced they were no longer able to effi ciently operate the business. The facility was put up for sale and despite the efforts of CL at C representatives, no successful buyers were secured. Penola Station Restaurant owners Steve Moignard and Qin Shu, as Coonawarra Station Apartments, offered to take over the facility with the hope of operating the accommodation and providing meals from their Penola restaurant.
