30 SPORT BONUS $100 COLD HARD CASH Conidel blitzes rivals WHEN YOU CONNECT ANY HANDSET TO ANY OPTUS PLAN OVER 24 MONTHS From page 34 Double completed TOURNEUR picked up the ride on Caton in the fi nal event due to the absence of Bishop, and duly completed his double for the day. That did not look likely at the 500 metres when Caton was still second last, but the Fred Meuring (Strathalbyn) trained galloper stormed home between runners in the straight to win his third career race. No excuses for the $3 favourite Serious Danger which had every possible chance but weakened after reaching the lead half way up the straight. Limestone Coast Racing is expected to return to Mount Gambier next Sunday week (November 10) after an absence of nearly six months. Course manager Darren Kolpin mentioned yesterday that the track is drying out very well after 80mm of rain in the past week. Even an impressive six wicket haul from North’s Michael Johnston, (6/13) and an equally impressive 4/25 off just 5.2 overs from Nick McInerney wasn’t enough to prevent a walk over. But despite the easy vic- tory, a West middle-order batting collapse left little to be excited about, apart from the Martin cameo. While all other games were washed out, the West v North match was played in a oneday format on the hard wicket at Blue Lake Sports Park. North struggled with the bat, only Gavin Coon, (24) and Michael Silvy, (25) causing any real trouble to the scorers on the way to a meagre 91 run total. West’s Shane Dycer applied the screws to North with the ball, taking 2/10 off eight overs, including four maidens. Ryan Hosking finished with 2/14, also including four maidens, while Derek Sargeant managed 2/17. West headed in to bat and made easy work of the run chase, amassing 83 before the fall of the fi rst wicket, 76 of those to Martin in a tally peppered with fours and sixes. Peter Hawthorne went soon after for just 13 runs with the team tally at 91 and there was little else to smile about, but by that stage the damage had been done. Bray Stephenson chipped in with 14 down the order but after just 28 overs and 123 runs the day was done. GWS star claims 4/11 for Dartmoor D grade GREATER Western Sydney footballer Jeremy Cameron has returned to his home town to join the Dartmoor cricket club’s D grade line-up. And while he contributed just 10 runs with the bat, with the ball he managed 4/11 from just 4.2 overs, good enough to help Dartmoor to victory in the 18th over against Allendale.
