Warriors started well, with two runs on the board in the fi rst and second innings, while Concordes struggled early to penetrate the infi eld off tight pitching. The difference between the two sides saw Warriors’ ability to hit the ball safely in the gaps, whereas the Concordes players seemed to pick the fi elder out all afternoon. Best for Warriors with the bat were Eleanor McClintock and Felicity Walker with three safe hits each and Em Hart and Sam Brown batting safely for Concordes. Concordes were much improved in the fi eld compared to last week, and will certainly look to take this momentum into next week’s game. Demons A easily accounted for a Concordes B side unaccustomed to the speed of Maggie Breen’s pitching. Demons also showed its might with the bat, with every player in its line-up recording at least one safe hit. The game was a one-sided affair with Demons winning 16-0. In the other B grade game, Warriors came out on top of Demons 16-1, in a game marked by the big hitting of the Warriors girls. Leading the way was Jenna Burston and Taylor Wilsmore, who both recorded three safe hits including a three bagger for Burston and a double for Wilsmore. Demons made only two errors in the fi eld, but it mattered little with Warriors amassing 18 safe hits for the game. Demons were held to one run, and three safe hits by a tight and consist- Junior tennis Round 2 details A boys: Mount Gambier Blue 5-32 d West Gambier 1-24. R1: L. Charlton lt B. Ferguson 4-6; R2: E.
