LIMESTONE COASTalive 1 ROCKING SHOW: Exile The Australian Rolling Stones show is coming to the Mount Gambier Community RSL this Saturday night for a high-energy show. Tribute act rolls out massive production MOUNT Gambier is set to be satisfi ed when Exile, The Australia Rolling Stones Show, comes to the city this weekend. The band is on a nation-wide tour and will be performing at the Mount Gambier Community RSL on Saturday night. Kicking off at 8pm, the six-piece ensemble will be playing classic Rolling Stones songs from all eras of the legendary rock band. Band manager Wayne Smith said a lot of work had gone into the production of the show. Also fi lling the roll of Ron Wood on guitar, he told The Border Watch it would be an experience like no other. “I suspect this will be one of the biggest productions to ever hit Mount Gambier,” he said. “We love taking the show to regional areas, because it gives the experience of a much bigger show than the people are used to. “Everything is state of the art equipment, from the lighting to the multi-media visuals that are on display throughout the show.” The idea was born when Mr Smith and others got together to come up with an idea for a new tribute show. on to Mount Gambier. “All up there is two tonnes of equipment, so our crew of eight, compared to The Rolling Stones’ team of 100, works very hard.” There are big plans ahead for the group, which will travel abroad from 2014 with shows already booked in Asia, the Pacifi c and New Zealand. After studying the market, the Exile show seemed a perfect fi t and has been a huge success. “Overall this has taken three years to put together, making sure we got everything right before hitting the stage,” Mr Smith said. “We started the tour just less than a month ago and overall we’ll cover 3500km on this run. “This weekend we have a show at Portland on Friday night, then we’ll pack up the gear and move With the act delivering what Mr Smith describes as a large-scale international standard theatre show, everybody’s favourites are included in the high energy performance. Satisfaction, Brown Sugar and Paint it Black are just some of the hits generations of music enthusiasts have come to love over the years. The group will be performing these and many more hits, rocking the RSL from start to fi nish. “Basically, this will be the biggest and best two hours of music delivered in this town - it can’t be missed,” Mr Smith said. Entry will be $35 for nonmembers and $40 for members and tickets are still available at the Mount Gambier Community RSL on Sturt Street.
