Despite the setback Kitschke said the club was still going ahead with its pre-season plans, with training beginning tonight under Jason Dunn, Malcolm Lockwood and the senior leadership group. The Bulldogs will also face the next season without utility player Fraser Scanlon who was appointed as the new playing coach of the Mount Burr United Football Club. Kitschke said while Scanlon had only played a handful of games after battling injury throughout the season he would still be missed.
