Young Jake Blackwell set the scoresheets alight in the last one day match with an impres- sive knock of 78 not out for Kongorong. He can only improve as the season progresses. “I would expect Mil Lel to win but Kongorong have been showing fantastic early-season form,” Kidman said. “Young Blackwell will be very important for them in the top order and they will be looking to knock on the door of fi nals.” Penola v East EAST is coming off a close loss to Kongorong in the last one day match and should take some confi dence from that. If the middle order can offer support to Aaron Schultz and if Dwayne Holman can continue to improve East could be looking at a good season, but will also need sustained efforts with the ball from the likes of Richard Abley and Simon Golobiowski. Penola’s Kidman and Jase Bateman racked up an impressive 141 run partnership in the last one-day match in a losing side, so if the remainder of the batting line-up can fi re, the team will be a force this season. 625972
