Kalangadoo v South KALANGADOO will be re-cutting its teeth in the competition after a hiatus of over a decade, rising through the ranks from C grade, taking the B grade title last season and progressing into the Barber Shield. But the team faces the biggest test of any in the competition when it faces the might of South Gambier. South has seen little change in the off-season and will be looking for its sixth premierships on the trot. And not many would doubt it has the ability to go all the way again, but there will be no shortage of challengers looking to steal the crown. But while South captain Dave Somerfi eld is confi dent, he doesn’t seeing it being that easy. “We’ve lost a couple of blokes but have managed to be competitive over the last few years, but it’s hard to see yourself going more than week to week,” he said. “With the players we have at the moment we are probably a little undermanned but I think if the boys can perform every week we’ll still be around the mix.” Of course Kalangadoo will be an unknown force with many eyes looking to this game. “I think it will take Kalangadoo time to adapt to A grade,” Somerfi eld said.
