The Border Watch : March 28th 2014
SOCIAL FEED Border Watch Mount Gambier Make-up free selfi e for cancer THIS week women have been taking selfi es (self portraits) without make-up for breast cancer awareness. Using the hashtag #nomakeupselfi e Facebook users posted their photo then nominated their friends to do the same. In the UK, the no make-up selfi e movement raised millions of dollars as people included web links and phone numbers to donate funds. However, many opinions both negative and positive, have been shared since the movement started. Questions were raised as to whether most people were following through with donating or even promoting certain organisations. Despite the negativity, Breast Cancer Network Australia made it clear they had benefi ted from the trend. BCNA posted a thank you message on its Facebook page: “Thanks to all those who generously donated to BCNA as part of the #nomakeupselfi e campaign. BCNA has received over 300 donations via our website since Wednesday, which is totally unexpected. Thank you to our Facebook community for getting behind BCNA and #nomakeupselfi e, keep up the great work!” @kyraTBW email@example.com Hip hop acts need your vote of support @Streamlyne I NEED YOUR VOTE!
