Bottled ingredients such as roasted wattle and kurrajong seeds, native pepperleaf and quandong kernels tempt cooks to be more adventurous in the kitchen. But what stallholders pride themselves on most is taking freshly grown products to consumers. Depending on the season, organically grown onions, beans, pumpkin, sweet potato and fresh herbs are laid out on tables inside the town hall on Eliza Street. From camembert, brie and feta cheese produced at Lucindale to smoked trout, fresh farm eggs, bread and cakes, jams and fruit juices, there is a diverse selection of goods for sale. In the hall cafe, visitors can mingle with locals over a cup of tea and hear how they make the hand-crafted goods at the market. Apart from the regional food, art and craft, the market also includes a fair trade goods stall with overseas product from Peru, India, Nepal, Indonesia and other developing countries. There are also pre-loved books to browse through and a different activity for children each week. The Kalangadoo Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
