Their 2014 campaign starts with this weekend’s South Australia titles and then the following Sunday they are off to Ballarat for the preliminary rounds of the Victorian equivalent – the William Loud Tournament with the successful teams then heading to Melbourne on June 29 for the finals. The number of junior teams competing at the three day SA Country Netball Championships means the teams have a tough road just to make finals but all three boast the talent and support staff to enjoy similar success to recent seasons when all three teams have generally competed in the semi-finals and in many cases the title deciders. The 17 and Under line-up is coached by Casterton/ Sandford’s Leanne Outtram, who has been in the role for a number of seasons. ATHLETIC: Emily Pietsch will make good use of her athletic skills in the 15 and Under Western Border Netball Association team. It boasts a number of regular A grade players including Alex Walker, Tori Perry, Mollie Muhovics, Eilish McKay and Danika Jolley. Lucy Walker is also part of the team and was a member of the 2013 Millicent A grade premiership team, just stepping back in 2014 to concentrate on her school work. Taylah Guthrie, Claire Outtram and Bailey Watson round out the strong squad. The 15 and Under team, being coached by another long time representative coach East Gambier’s Suzie Mitchell, is also a strong line-up with plenty of versatile players that can play any role for their experienced coach. Headlined by state school girls representative Mary Wilson, the team also includes former State SAPSASA player Olivia Dukalskis, Emily Pietsch, Keah Lynch, Lauren Ross, Lauren Pike, Madison Turner, Felicity Clayton, Sara Smith and Sophie Ferguson.
